Over the past few weeks, I’ve been trying to clean up my chrome browser and get rid of all sorts of unwanted pages, extensions, plugins, etc and I came across these two that are really difficult to remove from chrome.
Few Steps to Remove Skilled Marketing from Chrome
These are as follows
Step 1: Add Another Extension
Step 2: Choose Your Favicon
After you have chosen your favicon, you will be prompted with a screen asking if you would like to upload your favicon.png file. After you click Yes, it will ask you if you want to upload another one. If not, then simply click No. You can also upload an SVG file by clicking Yes and choosing the file on your computer. Finally, click Save Changes and restart Chrome.
Step 3: Changing Settings On Chrome
1. Access the Chrome menu by clicking on the three horizontal lines in the top right-hand corner of your browser window and selecting Settings.
2. Click on Show Advanced Settings.
3. Find Privacy in the settings menu and click on it, then find Content settings.
4. Under Content settings, scroll down until you see a checkbox next to Allow sites to run scripts that access browsing history. Check this box if you want websites to be able to access your browsing history. Otherwise, uncheck this box.
5. Scroll down and find Run these scripts at the bottom of the page below Content settings. Click on Scripts, where you will see a list of sites with access to your browsing history unless you unchecked that option in step four above.
6. You can change what type of script each site has permission to run by clicking on its name under Scripts.
7. Some scripts might be preselected for certain sites based on what they are used for, but you can also disable them or add more scripting permissions if necessary.
8. Click Save Changes when you have finished making changes to your settings so they will take effect after closing out of the browser window.
Step 4: Change Favicon For Specific Website
- If you change the favicon for a specific website, the old favicon will be used in all tabs where the website is open. Make sure that you don’t have any tabs open with other websites before continuing.
- Navigate to your computer’s desktop, right-click on an empty space and choose New -> Folder.
- Name this folder whatever you want (e.g., Favicons). Press enter or click OK.
- Now navigate back to your Google Chrome browser window and click on the three-dot icon at the top right corner of the screen.
- Select Settings -> Show Advanced Settings, then scroll down until you see a section labeled Favicons. Ensure that it is set as default and not a picker.
Step 5: Change Favicon For All Websites
For those of you who don’t know, the favicon is the little icon that appears in your browser tab. It can be anything from a simple document page icon to a picture of your favorite movie star.
